Serial entrepreneur. CEO. Business owner. Judith Bitterli wears and succeeds at all these titles well.

That is why the Webster University alumna is this year’s 2009 Woman of Influence award honoree. Ms. Bitterly received the coveted award given by Webster University’s School of Business and Technology on Wednesday, Jan. 28, following her address, “How To Succeed In Any Market,” at the University’s home campus in St. Louis. Previous winners include Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, President, Operation Respect; Patricia Woertz, Chairman/President/CEO, Archer Daniels Midland Co.; and Dr. Rohini Anand, Chief Diversity Officer, Sodexo.

“Judy is a true entrepreneur because she assumes the risk of every new challenge,” said Dr. Benjamin Akande, dean of Webster’s business school, as he presented the honor to Ms. Bitterli. “She is dedicated and committed to the success of whatever she undertakes. By paying tribute to her, we are shining the light on someone others can learn and draw lifelong lessons from.”

Ms. Bitterli, who graduated from Webster University in 1981, is known in the industry as a marketing guru. She has pioneered multi-million dollar companies like Direct Impact and Powered Inc., and has helped countless other businesses like IBM, Motorola and Visa make millions through her expertise in sales, marketing operations and Internet strategies.
